Classes are Monday to Friday, 4 classes each day (i.e., 3 hours of lessons per day).
There are additional 3-5 hours of optional classes, workshops, and activities per week.
Each level is 12 weeks long.

The overarching aim of the English as a Second Language Program offered at Granvile College is to enhance students’ English language abilities through practical activities that focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing and build an understanding of grammar, vocabulary, functional language, and pronunciation.
Students will also learn strategies and how to apply the strategies for language learning from Beginner to Advanced level.
Beginner
Beginner ESL helps students build a foundation in frequently used words and phrases, grammar, and pronunciation. Students will engage in in-class and outside-the-classroom activities, learning and using real life language. |
Intermediate
Intermediate ESL helps students to solidify knowledge of main grammatical structures and to expand their knowledge of practical language. Students will engage in in-class and outside-the-classroom activities, learning and using real life language. |
Elementary
Elementary ESL helps students to practice grammar and pronunciation in varied contexts and |
Upper-Intermediate
Upper-Intermediate ESL helps students to solidify knowledge of main grammatical structures, to learn more sophisticated grammatical structures, to put new vocabulary into practice, and to fine-tune pronunciation of difficult sounds. |
Pre-Intermediate
Pre-Intermediate ESL helps students with targeted pronunciations development and to reaffirm previously used vocabulary terms and to build a sense of autonomy. This level provided a rigorous review and an expansion of key basic user concepts as well as a wealth of new and challenging material. |
Advanced
Advance ESL helps students expand their knowledge of phrases, idioms and collocations and develop and understand formal versus informal language. |
Certificates and Completion Requirements
In order to receive a certificate, students are required to have enrolled in a minimum of 4 weeks, attended a minimum of 80% of the time, and have paid all dues.
To pass to the next level, students must have a minimum 80% attendance, completed the course work, passed the assessment tests, and have paid all dues.
Progress reports are every 6 weeks and/or at the end of your studies.
